Roza
Roza (Fasting) is one of the five pillars of Islam and an important act of worship observed by Muslims, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. From dawn until sunset, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, and other physical needs while focusing on prayer, self-discipline, and spiritual growth. The fast begins with a pre-dawn meal called Suhoor and ends at sunset with Iftar. Roza teaches patience, self-control, gratitude, and empathy for those who are less fortunate. By experiencing hunger and thirst, Muslims develop compassion for the poor and become more mindful of their blessings. Fasting is not only about avoiding food but also about controlling negative behavior such as anger, gossip, and dishonesty. During Ramadan, Muslims increase acts of worship, including reciting the Holy Quran, offering extra prayers, and giving charity. Roza helps purify the heart, strengthen faith, and build a closer relationship with Allah while promoting physical and spiritual discipline.
